NAMASTE JIMMY BEANS WOOL BACKPACK REVIEW

PIN THIS NOW TO READ LATER!

Back in January I had my first siting of the Namaste Jimmy Beans Wool backpack. I was perusing my IG stories, and this stunner of a bag popped up in a story from Knit Brooks. Immediately I swiped up and saw the $150 price tag and faltered. I’m not a big backpack type gal, but the blush is just so damn pretty, and I’m a complete sucker for it. That’s when I started chatting with Lauras’ (the owners) team and they so lovingly sent me out one to see what I thought instead, and to share my thoughts on my Instagram feed.

Note: Though I was sent this bag, I am doing this review completely unpaid and not sponsored.

OFFICIAL THOUGHTS

GUYS. This backpack fudging rules. I haven’t had a backpack since I was in grade school, and I never thought I would use it as much as I do now. We’re talking Every. Single. Day. I use it for work (because it’s cute enough to not make me look like a child in elementary), on the weekend, to walk the dogs, to go traveling, everything. This is now my go to bag over my other knitting project bags that include my Furls Leather bag and my Twig and Horn felt bag. It fits so much shit and looks bomb.

So what makes this backpack better than any other backpack?

1) It’s cute AF. It comes in blush, black, teal, plum, dove grey and 10 other colours. PS how did I miss this in dove grey? - WTF Chantal!

2) The back pack is packed full of Knitting/crochet extras.

  • TONS of pockets for notions, pens, yarn, phone, keys, notebooks, laptops, wallet and it has zippered and open sections and two water bottle pockets INSIDE, and two water bottle pockets outside

  • A cute little keychain thang that has lines to act as a ruler

  • A yarn feeder that acts like a yarn bowl

  • A back up-always-there stitch marker

  • and they give you a little notebook, a knitting needle gauge and a darning needle

3) It can fit SO much yarn. I can fit over 6 balls of Lion Brand Thick N’ Quick and a project in this backpack and still have room.

4) It has a traveling strap which means it super easy to be able to travel with by popping it onto your luggage handle. Plus the bottom also has little silver studs so it’s never actually resting on the ground and getting dirty.

5) It’s vegan leather. Meaning it’s easy to take care of, as well as doesn’t harm any animals in the making.

6) The owner Laura? Is the fucking best. I got to meet her at The Our Maker Life meet up and hearing her story was inspiring. She’s business savvy, tells it like it is, and has a great set of morals when it comes to inclusion and diversity in the knitting community. When we people say “vote with your dollars”, Laura is one that I will definitely be voting for.

CONCLUSION

All in all it’s been my life blood. I brought it on my Lion Brand New York Blogger Bash trip, and the one day I didn’t wear it, I was wishing that I had. So if you’re looking for a more lux type backpack that’s super cute, has loads of room and you knit or crochet, I would DEFINITELY recommend it! Chances are you’re going to be spending $75+ on a really good backpack so you might as well splurge!

While you’re in their site, I suggest browsing about too. Their whole Namaste line is great simply because Laura and her team are finding the little minimal things that make our lives easier and more efficient as fibre artists. Magnetic lids so your darning needles stay put, snapping bags that can house projects while also becoming their own personal yarn feeders. Simple things that make such a difference.
