KNIT YOUR OWN TEE TIME TEE

It’s time to hit the golf course! Just kidding my love. You don’t have to be a golfer to fall in love with this Tee Time Tee. You just need a love for the simple, classic, and basic white t-shirt that you always grab from your closet.

THE BACKSTORY

I wanted to create something that was simple, basic, and would be the perfect every day tee that you could grab and go. That's why I designed the Tee Time Tee. With a slight nod to the golf course with it's high collar and lapels, this tshirt (made with Lion Brand Truboo) is perfect for 30+ degree weather.

THE YARN

Truboo is the PERFECT summer yarn. It's 100% bamboo which means that it's light. It's slinky, and it has the cool-to-the-touch feel of silk. It lies well, drapes impeccably, and never feels too hot to wear. I'm not kidding when I say that I wore it to the for 9 holes yesterday with my mom in 36 degree heat (Thats 97 fahrenheit for my US friends).

Note: I will say that this yarn absolutely needs to be wetblocked, and so does your swatch. Because it's a plant based fibre - the yarn doesn't have any memory in its fibers. Meaning that it stretches like a beeeeotch. So make sure that you 1) Gauge swatch. 2) Wet block is and slightly expand it while doing so. That way you can see how far it stretches.

DESIGN DETAILS

The Edging:

As with EVERY pattern I make, I like to challenge myself too, and try to learn new skills and techniques. This was the first time I used the icord bind off, and you can bet it won't be my last. It takes a little more time than a regular bind off, but the end result is stunning. Super clean, super modern and extremley softicated. Giving this patter just that extra “Je ne sais quoi”. You'll find this edging on the collar, hem and on the sleeves. Nervous about learning the icord bind off? That's ok. I have both a link to how to do it flat, and also in the round in the pattern, to make it easy to watch and see.

The Neckline:

When making this piece, i had a feeling that some may want more coverage, while others may want to show of the ahem* “ladies". So when designing and writing it out, you'll find that this pattern has a certain amount of increase rows/rounds in the yoke, but you get to determine the depth of the v-neck by choosing when to join your top-down knit. confused? Don't be. I explain it all in the pattern!

The Hem:

I also wanted to give this pattern a bit more flair. So I added a split hem at the bottom. It's a small and delicate touch that I thought would play kindly to the ones of us who are more endowed in the bottom area (like me!).
