Ready to knit a dress?

I don’t know about you, but I love knitting dresses. There’s something so gratifying about being able to wear a dress in public, and go “I made it” when someone compliments you on it. As knitters and crocheters we’ve all had that compliment on a sweater right? Now multiply it by 10, and that’s what getting that compliment is like on a dress. You BLOW their mind.

The Easy Eyelet Yoke Dress

I made the Easy Eyelet Yoke over a year ago, and it’s hands down my best selling pattern. It’s great for a beginner wanting to tackle a top down yoke for the first time, it’s flattering on all sizes (XS-5XL), and it’s the perfect project to knit in front of the TV. The Dress version (to go along with the original, and the lite version), has all the same fun elements, but just… you got it- a skirt!

What will you need to make this pattern?

I made this pattern with cotton so it could be used during the summer months, and though mine was made out of Lion Brand LB Collection Cotton Jeans, which is a DK, I did have some testers use worsted due to gauge, so feel free to bump up if you need it.

The LB Jeans Cotton comes in some really cute jeans colors (faded, sun bleached, dark navy and a few more. I used black). I find it really similar to a We Are Knitters cotton in feel and thickness, but it’s not too heavy for a cotton. Feel free to check out my testers and what yarns they used and yardages farther below.

• 5 (XS,S), 6 (M, L, XL), 7 (2XL), 8 (3XL), 9 (4XL), 10 (5XL) skeins of Lion Brand LB Collection Jeans Cotton or 940yds/860meters to 2025yrds/1850meters of size 3 DK yarn

•Size US 10/6mm knitting 16”/40cm circular needles

•Size US 10/6mm knitting needles 24”/60cm circular needles (4+5XL may benefit from 32”/82cm)

•1 stitch marker

•Sewing elastic cord (0.8mm thick)

•Scissors

•Darning needle

•Scrap yarn

Knit top down, in the round, and seamless, this pattern is written in nine sizes – XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). It is suggested that you highlight your size, so you know which stitch count to follow. Model pictured is wearing the size M and is 5’7”, 148 pounds and has a bust of 36.5” in circumference, for reference.
