DESCRIPTION

The Casual Crop Sweater is a top-down modified drop-shoulder that is intended to be worn with 10-12" of positive ease - making it roomy and cozy. With a double brim shaped crewneck and its cropped length, it's great to wear with fleece lined tights in the winter, or denim high-waisted shorts or over a shift dress for those cool summer nights. 

Construction: This sweater is knit from the top down. You will cast on for the back and work from the neck down. Once the back panel is complete, you will pick up the front sides individually and shape the neckline before joining them to work the remainder of the panel. The body is then joined in the round and the torso is completed. The sleeves are picked up and knit in the round. The double brim collar is picked up and knit in the round and then hand sewn down. 

This pattern is written in nine sizes – XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL) and knit top-down. Model pictured is wearing the size M and is 5’7”, 150 pounds. She has a bust of 36.5” in circumference, for reference.

How to choose your size: Find your bust measurements below. and knit the size according to it.

XS – 28-30” bust
S – 32-34” bust
M – 36-38” bust
L – 40-42” bust
XL – 44-46” bust
2XL – 48-50” bust
3XL – 52-54” bust
4XL – 56-58” bust
5XL – 60-62” bust

The pattern has been tested in all sizes except for 5X. If you would like to test that size and have a bust of 60-62", please send me an email at knitatude@gmail.com.

DIFFICULTY
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate
You will need to know how to cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, work in the round, work flat, increase, decrease, pick up stitches, bind off.

MATERIALS NEEDED

- 6 (7, 7, 8, 8) (9, 10, 11, 11) balls of Purl Soho Daily Worsted or approximately 905 (1005, 1090, 1175, 1225) (1350, 1590, 1700, 1800) yards / 830 (920, 998, 1075, 1120) (1235, 1455, 1555, 1645) meters of another worsted weight yarn, category 4

- Size US 7/4.5 mm circular needles, 40”/100cm long
- Size US 7/4.5 mm DPN (for sleeves)
- Size US 6/4 mm circular needles, 40”/100cm long
- Size US 6/4 mm DPN (for cuff)
- 1 stitch marker
