Habitant Scarf - Knitting Pattern
*** This listing is for the PATTERN only, not a physical item. Purchases made in error will not be refunded.****
DESCRIPTION
A fluffy scarf that doubles as a hood? Yup! This oversized, cozy scarf is designed to be extra large to battle those brutal winter winds. With cute braided tassels (video tutorial included) on each end, it has the most beautiful modern look.
This scarf is called the Habitant Scarf as it’s a nod to Montreal, where I first saw women walking the streets with these glorious oversized scarves, worn in a way that created a cocooned hood. I fell in love.
Note: the yarn called for in this pattern is a bit tricky to work with due to how fluffy it is. I suggest knitting English style so you can really wrap the yarn around the needle without snagging it in the halo’d fibers.
Knit in the round with US 10.5/6.5 mm circular needles.
SIZES
Adult
Length without tassels: 76 inches / 193 cm
Width: 13.25 inches / 34 cm
DIFFICULTY
Advanced beginner/Intermediate. You will need to know how to knit in the round, cast on and cast off.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- 4 skeins of Lion Brand Wool Ease Aire or approximately 795 yards / 727meters of another super bulky weight yarn, category 6
- Size US 10.5/6.5 mm circular needles, 24”/60 cm long
- Size J-10 / 6 mm crochet hook (for placing on tassels)
- 1 stitch marker
